First of all, let me wish you all a warm welcome to new LGM Games project, Starpoint Gemini Warlords.
I'll try to be active here on forums and answer as many questions as I can to keep you all up to date with support, upcoming plans, and anything else you might need.

Starpoint Gemini Warlords was a community idea and many things you can see today in the game were direct community suggestions over the last year the game was in Early Access on Steam.

Basically it was like this:

Community: We want a game similar to SPG2 with much bigger universe, better graphics, beter voiceovers, better modding support, option to expand our territory, have our own base, destroy other factions and command our fleets. We also need 4K support and multithreading and there are some of us that have three monitors. And yeah, we want better controller support and less UI elements on the screen.

LGM: Okay, here's Warlords Early Access.

Community: Where is diplomacy? And option to hail enemy ships before destroying them. And more comm chatter.

LGM: Umm, you didn't menti... *sigh*... Ok, sure, give us a month or two!

And today we finally released the full version. We hope you will like it and don't hesitate to comment and ask anything.

Looks cool, I wishlisted the game for now as I have to clear up some backlog ;)

I really liked SPG2, there was only one thing that bothered me : It always felt wrong to command a giant Starship that should by the looks of it have a crew of anywhere from a dozen to a hundred or even more people and never meeting any of them besides seeing portraits of your bridge officers (that were basically like equipment).
I'd really love that kind of flavour text or even voiceover where your engineer yells at you for getting your hull shot open or you hear some random chatter of crew members excited about the coming shore leave. That would make me feel more like Captain Kirk and less like the pilot of an oversized one man fighter.

Has the game evolved in that regard or do you still only talk to your ship computer and the story NPCs ?

There is much more comm chatter which makes the universe more alive. We also have more conversations, you can hail other ships, but for damage reports and threat assassement you still have your ship's computer. I do like your idea though, to bad nobody mentioned anything like it on Steam forums or maybe I missed it.
Long weekend coming up :)

I hope you will enjoy it! :) I know SPG2 was not perfect...
Is there a document somewhere listing the changes from SG2?

MischiefMaker: Is there a document somewhere listing the changes from SG2?
There is no document, but few differences between those games are:

* Territory expansion and control
* Fleets construction and management
* Headquarter construction and upgrades
* Refined Skills and Perks system
* 4K support
* More everything (weapons, ships)
* 9 times bigger map (then in SPG2)
* Better music (dedicated soundtrack people wished for)
* Diplomacy

and so on... This is more like an 4X game with focus on combat, not economy.

Well, it's still not to late to give few of these ideas green light in one of the planned DLCs :-) preferably in free one, so everyone could enjoy it :-P

Thumbs up for release. The universe needs more games in Space :-)

Thanks for the support, and I agree completely: more space!
Are the voice overs improved from SPG2? They really ruined it for me.

Might be a neat addition for a possible DLC though ;)

More conversations and comm chatter still sound like a step in the right direction for me. I will give this a try as soon as I can.

Voice overs are a matter of personal preference. In my opinion they are improved, we even completely changed VAs from Early Access build for release build. You now also have branching dialogues, you can hail other ships, there is more comm chatter as I mentioned...

So you start out in charge of a faction, or is this more like Mount & Blade where a faction is something you eventually get around to creating?
