I find it really problematic if not annoying that my ship can only fire above it. Nothing really directly under it or on its side if on the wrong angle can be fired at.

I would think that in this age. People would have put the guns so you could from from your side atleast. And some guns below. But they are all just ontop... Specially frontal. Directly infront of you. That should honestly be where you had the most firepower. Right infront of you. But its not. Its ontop.

Can we please get so you dont have to twitch and turn the ship constantly just to be able to shoot people? -w-

For me personally its also really disorienting to have to turn all the time. Loosing all sense of where things is.

Any particular ships you had in mind? Turret placement varies vastly between hulls, from the Sigma where basically all turrets can fire forwards to clunkers like the Ragnarok, which definitly can't hit anything that gets below its enormous saucer section.
My Dreadnought Magistrate fires below.
I have yet to actually get a ship that can fire below. All the ships i had only really fired properly above it.
Im out of the game right now waiting for the patch. But right now im using the ship just before battleship. One with a yellow design.
But only at the top all guns fire. Else its very limited. From what i expirenced.
I just got the Concort Battleship. Its not able to fire below itself at all. :c

Try the Formidable dread next. 16 turrets on top, 10 below. Of course, that makes shooting things directly in front or behind you a bit tricky... :D
It's all about tactics. Taking time with your new ship to learn all its traits and flaws. It would be boring if all ships can do same damage in all directions. It would be just a matter of aesthetics then, right? :)
