One of our best modders, Ryouchan on Steam, made an interesting mod. Random Encounters 2 was made to add even further randomness and unpredictability to the game. He also shared the file for download for GoG users. :)

http://steamcommunity.com/sharedfiles/filedetails/?id=382751867&tscn=1422718370

Ryouchan's description:
"I'm mostly going for a you never know what's going to happen approach, but for example, you'll receive random transmissions, have intruders potentially board your ship, receive items or credits or a live bomb on your ship, and just general random things that can occur on sector changes. Most of it is just fluff to add some life to the system, like the random transmissions, but you get the occasional one that will impact you in some way. It also sort of gives your ship a crew, whose icons appear when an encounter happens letting you know what's going on."
Hi zzokalj,
As a modder and having Mediafire, can you please tell me the files needed to upload please?

Klonicus
Well, I just downloaded all mods to my computer, then rar-ed every one of them then uploaded them all to my Google drive. :D

You can do that. Subscribe to your mod, then take complete folder from Mods folder, along with sgs and sgm files and rar them. And you can upload them to Mediafire then and paste the link here. :)
Two new Star Wars mods made by our modder Dietrich.

1. Star Wars FX mod which replaces default weapon sounds with Star Wars weapon sounds and also replaces default music with Star Wars soundtrack.

2. Star Wars Galaxy conversion which replaces enemies and planeets with Star Wars ones.

https://drive.google.com/file/d/0B3G5Xb3sJxSYZndfeDhSNTk3LUU/view

How to install:

1) Download the rar files. Extract the StarWarsGC folder to your \Starpoint Gemini 2\Mods folder.
2) Start SG2.
3) Look for StarWarsGC and Star Wars FX in the mods list.
4) Install the mods and check the installed boxes.
5) Restart the game.
6) You'll know it's installed by, well, Black Sun & Imperial Remnant attacking you, Star Wars art, planet names, menu music... You'll know.

May the Force be with you. :)
Thanks for posting those two mods, I should get back into this game. I started a few games at the same time and did not get back into this one. too many games on backlog.

Downloading these for the future.

Please keep any good mods posted here for the GoG community.

I cannot see the link to get "Random Encounters 2" unless I missed it could you post a link.

Regards MarkL

Since I can't constantly download, rar and refresh all mods here, I'm doing mod by mod as per your request.
Some of these mods are outdated and if they crash the game or don't work, please let me know which ones are you using and I will upload new versions here.

Thanks, any help with mods is appreciated. It is a shame they all seem to be only hosted at Steam and not ModDB.

Thanks again, MarkL

Yes, that's up to modders to decide if they will publish it just in Workshop, or host their own webpage or use ModDB or something.
A question:
Are there any mods for the german version of the game?
All mods are mostly new ships, different mechanic, different music mods so they are not bound to any language.
If any of the mods you tried doesn't work, it needs to be updated. Tell me which one you would like and I will manually redownload/upload it from Steam Workshop.

When I looked into it, the german game files are actual different from the english one. There is not just a translation database, but they have different names in the data tables itself.
If you use anything that doesn't add to the game, but alter existing files, this would break the game to use files from different languages.

We do not have Steam Workshop here, this is something only available within the Steam universe AFAIK.
You don't have Workshop here, you have me. I downloaded all relevant mods from Steam to my Steam game folder, then took one by ne, rar them and uploaded them to my Google Drive and then made this post so you can download them. I can't update all of them regulary, but when you see some mod you would like, you just tell me and I'll try to reupload the latest version from Steam Workshop. As for German files, I don't think we ever had a problem with mods on other localisations.

Oh, I never read the first page of this thread *selfslap* :)
Our Steam community member, Ryouchann, uploaded and will continue to upload his mods to
http://www.nexusmods.com/starpointgemini2/mods/categories/?

He also asked if anyone is playing with modding on GoG, you can upload them on the page so non-Steam users can get access to mods for Starpoint Gemini 2.
