Is there any way to get the autofire option to target just one enemy ship until it's destroyed? Right now it bounces around targets, even if they're all in range, which means damaged enemies have a chance to regen shield, etc.

(I'm still on the first ship and only have one light weapon, so maybe this isn't an issue later, but right now it would be nice to be able to focus.)

Not that I knew. But you can always switch to manual fire, especially if an enemy is close you can take him down easily this way.

I haven't seen any way to completely focus auto-fire on a single target, however, using the third mouse button on a target (mouse wheel) to open the contextual menu, the possibility to "MARK" a target seem to give your turrets priority fire over it

Admittedly i am not certain of this, but it seems to work, as the turrets are favouring the marked target over others when in range and the angle of fire is right
I did try marking a target, and it didn't seem to work for me. I had two targets that appeared to be in range in front of me, and the turret still switched back and forth. (I'm thinking marking a target is for fleet work?)

At any rate, I now have a bigger ship and am using the "spin ship to fire all heavy weapons" tactic, which always does focus on one enemy, and I don't care so much what the turrets are doing. (Fusion torpedoes do a lot of damage when buffed out!)
When you use Fire and Will it will shoot at closest targets.

If you use FaW and Mark a target, your ship will focus the fire on marked target. That usually takes two or three seconds since your crew has to calculate new trajectories. Also it takes a few seconds for your fighters to receive new orders and engage the marked target.

Of course, if the enemy is in front of you, not all turrets will be able to shoot at it and will still focus on enemies in ther fire arcs... Same goes for heavy weapons.
Thanks for the confirmation! (Since Catrhis posted it first, I marked that one as the solution.)
Yes, he is right. Then again, he's graduated captain by now. He's playing for months, if I remember correctly. :)
