hello yall, i been playing starflight 1. whilst exploring is not that hard, and pretty fun...... mine materials on planets, or find creatures/etc


when you start making money , and exploring far from the main system, it become hard.


the few times i was in a combat again a enemy ship, i always lost... the lasers are hard to aim , whilst you get blown up by missiles.

maybe buying missile system is crucial in combat.... i havent got it yet.


what you think ? i like the game but im not sure i have the power to finish it. i just travelled a bit far from the starting point (125,100) , and often you fall in sort of continuim flux or whatever that is .... so exploring far needs you to really buy high amounts of fuel to be sure you can go back home.

ok i understand a thing.


combat isnt hard in the end...... i guess the weapons auto-aim themselves on the enemy, sometimes it misses , sometimes it hit the enemy... you cant control that....



so stay idle and shoot with 'spacebar' to enemy is how to fight.

Your character's skills determine how often shots hit. Some tips:

1) When hiring characters, always check their stats and skills. Patience in hiring can get you better crewpeople.
2) Robots start with 150 in every skill. This might seem great, but it's a trap - Skills go higher than 150, so you're really losing out on training bonuses.
3) Training bonuses. Get your crew better.

Anyway, the last time I really played this was on the Amiga, so... Amazing how much I still remember. :lol:
