As per the topic. Every notice I read and every time I communicate (admittedly only the first enounter with the Mechans so far), I get the first several characters as garbage and the last few as well. Also the messages seem cut short by a word or two, even allowing for garbled characters.

Anyone else getting this or have any idea what it could be? I played the original when it came out on Amiga and I don't remember this being a problem (it has been a while though). Some vital info is getting garbled so I'm pretty sure it's not meant to happen.

Hello,
Is the garbling when you are speaking to aliens? If that is the case then the reason is that your communications officer's skill is too low. If you have a fully trained officer the communication will be completely clear. If you have a communication officer with no skill then it will be garbled.

If that is not what you are talking about, then I'm sorry but I was not helpful.

No, that's not it. My communications officer is fully trained (although Human) but the messages I'm seeing retain the same garbage characters regardless of training or not (I checked). Also the noticeboard at stardock has the same garbling problem.

Thanks for the attempt anyway :)
