6-Run the new version of the xnafx40_redist.msi

it seems to fix the lags for many people (me included)
Are you still getting the speed issue with a vanilla version (did not install whatever file that has been posted inthis thread) of Stardew Valley 1.05?
Is anyone using GPU-DSR to up their resolution?
I was thinking today that I started getting/noticing the fps drop situation after I started doing that. When I first started playing (on version 1.03), with no DSR/my native 1080, it was stable. On the other hand, before I was using DSR, the game would not remember my resolution settings (it would revert to some weird setting every restart). With DSR the resolution setting "sticks."

Anyway...it's all weird. Haven't tried new patch yet, downloading now.

I use no mods, btw. Nvidia-980ti/Win7-64

I just updated to 1.05 with a vanilla install and the slow down is still present.

After installing 1.05, I've played two, 3 hour sessions of the game and haven't had the fps drop yet. Not while screenshot taking, changing areas, running from A to B, or anything else. *crossing fingers*

Still using gpu-DSR (1080 native, playing in 1440), and still no mods. Haven't specifically installed/upgraded any software/MS stuff, either.

Oh and forgot to list my CPU last post - it's an i7-920.

Hi, I've just this minute started experiencing these same slowdown problems :(

I bought the game a few hours ago (fantastic game BTW!). I played for hours and hours at a constant 60 fps. I set the lighting to full, but left everything else so was playing at the default Windowed Borderless display mode. A little later, I switched to full screen. Had no problems for hours. I experienced the rain a few times as well as various light sources and more 'busy', cluttered areas - no worries, a constant 60fps.

After a break, I fired it up again and loaded my save. It was a rainy day (in-game). I had 60fps in my house, then the moment I went outside it dipped to...
50-something-fps and even occasionally 48fps in Borderless Windowed mode and as low as 30 (!!) fps in Fullscreen mode.

The only way to achieve 60fps was to use standard windowed mode.

I tried that XNA Framework refresh thing; didn't work sadly.

My specs are: Potato. (Integrated Intel HD). I don't believe however, that this is related to my (lack-of) GPU because if so, that doesn't explain why the game was running so well for the first few hours.

I'm not sure which version of the game I'm running either because I downloaded it using the GOG Installer as opposed to Galaxy. There were no updates listed in the download links, so am I to assume I have an up-to-date version or just day one release?

Anyway, I really hope GOG can fix this.

When you start the game, at the New/Load/Exit screen there's a question mark right lower corner. Click it and the version you're using is shown in the lower left-corner. For Stardew, however, whenever the game is updated here, the most current patched version is the only visible download available in your Library. The last two numbers (so far) of the .exe file name tells what version it is.

eg, setup_stardew_valley_2.3.0.5 = 1.05
setup_stardew_valley_2.2.0.4 was 1.04, etc.

There's nothing for us to fix here as we didn't make this game, you'll need to get in contact with the developer of the game :)

I could have worded that better. I understand that it's really up to the developers. I just meant that I hope there is a new patch from them soon and that the patch comes to the GOG release quickly :)

@KrankyKat. I'd read some posts earlier about how to find the version number number after clicking the question mark. For some reason I couldn't see it (?!? lol). I see it now suddenly. Thankyou :)
