I was wondering if any of the developers could answer whether there were any plans for a Linux version. You could count me in for a purchase if you were.

Well, there might not be an official Linux version for quite a while since there's only one developer (ConcernedApe) who is currently focusing all his efforts on bug fixing, new content and multiplayer.

But you might want to take a look at this: http://community.playstarbound.com/threads/stardew-valley-on-linux.106833/

Not for anything, but that's a rather crappy "guide" if you don't own the Steam version. No need to look further than the thread here for something better.

Whoops, I absolutely didn't pay attention there. Sorry!

ShadowOwl: Sorry!
For being helpful? Though my linked thread is better. ;)

I read it runs in Wine and this game is obnoxiously addicting so, I say buy it anyway! :)
I'm too old and crotchety to spend time trying to get things running in wine, but I will buy a native Linux version of this in a heartbeat if it gets a proper port.

I generally don't mind getting XNA games running in Wine, but I make no exceptions to my "at least 50% off" rule. (I already don't have time to play all of the games I own, even if you filter down to just the ones I really love)

That aside, given my love of Harvest Moon, my respect for what ConcernedApe has accomplished, and his views on Linux and a Linux port, I'm definitely going to suspend my "no more than $5" rule.

(And, despite owning over 2700 digital downloads, I can count how many times I've made that exception on one hand.)
I can't remember where, but the developer has stated he plans on porting it to Linux/OSX.

For now, I'm more concerned about why 1.07 isn't on GOG yet. I'm getting kind of impatient. Apparently the patch was submitted to GOG already as of a day or two ago. I'm not sure what the hold-up is.

Given the following, I'd be surprised if it didn't come to Linux:
1. ConcernedApe Linux (See also [url=http://stardewvalley.net/dev-update-30/]Dev Update #30 from September, 2015)
2. He's said, "Depending on sales of the game, most likely!" and the game's a runaway success (#11 in current player count as I'm writing this)
3. has poked at it, is optimistic, and has [url=https://steamcommunity.com/app/413150/discussions/0/451852225140846546/?tscn=1456859628#c405692758723029364]offered his services.

As for 1.07, it's probably some kind of traffic jam in the "build the new installer and do basic QA" queue. GOG has those occasionally.
