As one bundle in the community centre requires a food item made from rice, I am wondering whether rice seeds will be available in the future seasons.
I have noticed that Pierre sells rice in his store, yet I would prefer to grow them on the farm if possible.

not that i am aware of though he (the dev) has said that he is working on a new update
so it is possible that one day we could grow some rice ourselfs.
i havent seen any details on what could be in the upcoming update, so its anyone's guess untill he posts some details

Yes, as of now it seems there is no way to grow rice. So I just bought some from Pierre's.

I also heard about the Dev working on another update. Hoping for more interesting content.
