iam 7h into the game now ... running around in town is a chore

is there something like a bike or speed potion that lasts a reasonable amount of time ?

i REALLY like the game but the guy must get at least 1/3 faster in some way

yeah would be cool if there were fast travel options to places you've already visited, where the appropriate amount of time passes etc.

I don't think the speed is all that bad. I have autorun on. if you don't have that...well damn dude then the game is slow af. if you do already...I still understand. it'd be a nice option but I'm not dying to have it.

maybe it's a balancing issue? so that you're designed to only do X amount of things before the day is done? idk. I'm just going off the top of my head. it's an interesting idea to have as an option though.
dont worry i have autorun switched on too ;)

but it still feels super slow to me ... exploring town / buy seeds is a pain in the arse :D
Personally I thought the run speed felt more like what the walking speed should be. It's just way too slow.
I do agree and think that there should be a way to increase speed (I wouldn't mind having to "work" for it).

There's always this in the mean time if you're too impatient. The first version I know works on Gog's version of the game. Do keep in mind it's a bit buggy though. There's no danger to your saves as far as I know but it can break cutscenes (I got stuck in a cutscene for Abigail at 2 star friendship because it seemed to want me to walk to the right for a certain amount of time and there was a wall just a bit further to the side so when I started walking into the wall due to the increased speed it seems the game considered me not moving anymore) and it seems to fairly consistently break your ability to talk to shopkeepers for some reason. The cutscene bit is something the author is aware of and will be attempting to fix.
Isn't there a horse you can use? It's implied in the text for the stable (which is crazy expensive, so I won't be able to check for a while)
There are a few foods such as coffee that increase movement speed. You can buy coffee at the Saloon and you might want to look out for recipes for other foods that may buff your movement speed.
I'd also recommend doing the community center boiler room, as it unlocks a very handy teleport like shortcut if you complete every bundle in there.

Aha! That's great to know. Time to exploit the fence bug again before I load any patches. ;) I can live with the Autorun speed as long as there's something like the good old Ritornen spell from the Wii versions of Rune Factory. (You had to get yourself to your outbound destination, but you could always teleport back to your house.)

Thanks mate, great information!
Another convenient hint: If you eat different foods that improve your speed it will stack.
So if you eat Pepper Poppers, Spicy Eel, Super Meal and drink a Coffee, your speed will be 4 times as fast as original speed. (Eating more of the same food won't stack movement speed.)
Also remember that foods such as Spicy Eel have longer buff durations (7 minutes), which is obviously much longer than coffee.
