Luckmann: Could you perhaps stop referring to different versions as the same version? Apparently it still says 1.0, even though there's apparently at least a release version, a 5.25 and now a 5.30. It's fucking up support, because there appears to be no way to actually check what version you're on, since the game just tells you "1.0".
I am now stuck in the game thanks to a shoddy autosave/quicksave system combined with this, and discovered that there had been patches too late (because, again, it's all listed as 5.25). Support was nice enough to update my save, but the save isn't working, because until I actually went into this fucking forum, I assumed that 5.25 was the latest patch and that I had just updated to it.
So support probably updated my save to 5.30 unknowingly, making my save incompatible.
Why even have version numbers if you're not going to actually use them? Stop presenting the game as 1.0, if so. Why even convey false information to the players? That's actually
worse than no information at all!
Hi! I'm George, I made the game and I'm the same person you've been emailing with about your problem. Your save will work with the latest version - GOG may be a little slow in updating the web installation, but they will and it will work fine. For my part, I put up the latest version of the game and its version name, but I don't have any direct control over how GOG chooses to display it or when they update their website installation.
If you're using GOG Galaxy, it will always have the latest version. If you're manually downloading through the website, it looks like they are lagging behind a bit. Just make sure you have the latest version (currently v1.0 - 5.30 HOTFIX on Galaxy) and your save should work correctly - it's definitely compatible.
