Hey Everyone,

I just purchased a Thrustmaster HOTAS X controller and was excited to try it out with the X-Wing Collector's CD.

But I seem to be having a really weird issue with mapping the joystick.

No matter what I seem to try, Button 4 on the stick (which is recognized as Button 3 in the key mapping) seems to be permanently mapped to the "." key (pilot view with no cockpit).

Fortunately, I have enough buttons on the controller, so this is really more of an inconvenience than a big issue.

Still, I can't figure out what's going on - Which is annoying.

Has anyone run into this before? Do you have any suggestions for working around this?

The button maps in X-wing are hard-coded, the only way to alter that button is to have a fully programmable stick like the thrustmaster T-16000, the Logitech Extreme 3D pro or the CH Products sticks, these sticks (with their own software) have the capacity to essentially completely subistitute the button functions with keyboard macros, when a custom map profile is loaded the button ceases to be detected as a stick button and just does work as the keyboard command attributed to it in the profile.

As it turns out, the Thrustmaster HOTAS X can store a profile, but the included manual is light on details. I've contacted tech support...

I remember reading somewhere that the HOTAS X has very limited profile capabilities, it can only swap buttons.

I have the HOTAS X. Basically, you have to press the preset button, then tap the program button till it flashes. Next, tap the button or move axis you wish to swap, then tap the button or move the axis you wish to swap it for.

I used this to swap out the HUD display button and target nearest fighter to other places.
