Installs fine.Launcher starts fine and can go through all the setup options,but as soon as I click play,xwa,launcher disappears,get the engine sound then nothing.Tried updating with patches,running as admin,compatibility options and tried with xwa upgrade,all same result.Any other ideas welcome
System is win7 i5 4670k not o/c,gtx780ti o/ced,8Gig ram not o/c,soundblaster z

Did you try asking on http://www.xwaupgrade.com/ forums? There's a sub-forum called Hard/software. Might be able to help.

I've not been able to find a solution so far,then again I've not seen anyone other than diz here that's had the same problem.I think I'll uninstall the gog version,and try a cd version and see if I get the same problem

okey dokey.Got it fixed.I installed visual c++ redist package for visual studioboth(32 and 64 bit versions)they threw up a compatibility error during install,but xwa still works nevertheless.hope it works for you
