Okay this thread is partly to vent.

How do I transfer my pilot into a B-wing for this mission? The B-wing expansion pack is supposed to provide us to fly the B-wing, not escort them! They only fire torpedoes two at a time, do not use their ion cannons, easily abort their attacks, and let themselves be killed. And rather than dispatch all six at once, they only come in sets of three. Best I can hope for is for them to fire 12 torpedoes before being destroyed and the frigate always gets away before I can personally take it out or if I destroy the enemy fighters exclusively.

I need a means to bypass this stupid mission, because the AI pilots of those B-wings cannot do the job!

Okay this thread was created mostly to vent. It's a terrible mission and I'm seriously seeking a means to bypass it so that I may finish the tour. I cannot take out the Frigate in the allotted time with an A-Wing, and the B-Wings are almost completely worthless.

BS_Agincourt: 39 times and I'm still being put into a ****** A-Wing!

No more! No more! No more! No more! No more! No more! When will the game put me into a B-wing so that I may actually win this scenario?!?!?!?!?!?!?!?!

What stupid **** decided to design this mission?! How do I bypass this game error and get onto the main campaign?!?!?!
I will assume you are being sarcastic with "being put in a B-Wing", in that the mission would be easier.

I am really fighting the urge to just say "git gud skrub", but it really is a tough mission.

Here you have an example of the mission being won: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=i0dIGtETZFc
Energy balancing is everything.

Here's how I did it:

As Links said energy management is everything but also tactical awareness, always prioritize whoever is attacking teh B-wings and even taking potshots at the frigate to draw its fire and do additional damage helps.

In this second example, in particular, you can see there is not even the need to micro-manage energy to the extremes, it's just your usual "ballet" of using laser energy to feed the shields, rebalancing them frequently, squeeze speed by cutting recharge when needed and, conversely, use high recharge to cut speed when fighting close range (the A-Wing is fast enough for everything, so that's a perfect moment to stock laser energy, your target will stay in range long enough)

Also one thing I did IIRC was sending home the last B-wing of the first wave when it got damage so the second wave would arrive sooner.
