Dear GOG,
Thank you for working so hard to bring us these classic Lucasarts titles! It's been my desire to relive these games, but I never wanted to fool with all the hacks and tricks needed to get them to run on a modern OS. It's so easy to just click to install, then click on the icon to play - no backdoor editing needed.

After about fifteen minutes of scrolling about with the mouse / keyboard layout I made a whiney plea to my wife, and she ordered a joystick for me. Guess what I'm playing this weekend? :D

Looking forward to the next batch of Lucasarts titles you bring our way! (but please, give me a little time so my wallet doesn't start sobbing)
I second this motion :)
Thank you GOG, and I check the homepage for X-Wing Aliance on a daily basis...
Thirded!

I was going to write a cranky riposte to all the people complaining about not having the very nice version of the DOS CD for X-Wing and TIE Fighter, especially those who decided not to give any money for GOG for releasing what they did.

Instead, I will add my voice to the THANK YOU thread for bringing these games in an easy-to-install format for modern computers!

Destex, do you have cd edition of XWA? If you do, it works great on modern systems. Just follow installation instructions on this thread (http://www.gog.com/forum/general/how_to_get_xwing_alliance_working_on_windows_7_64bit_and_new_machines) and you should be playing in no time. There is also a great mod which improves textures for spacecraft and stations in the game. I'm playing it concurrently with TIE Fighter right now. I know it's not GOG edition but still good enough while we wait for the new batch of LA games.

Thanks for the tip revanbh. Unfortunately, I don't have XWA, and I never played it :)

Indeed, thanks to GOG. And XWA was absolutely excellent! So glad it's arrived at GOG too!
