Is there a way in Tie Fighter Special Edition to target ships immediatly in front of you as there was in X-Wing (pressing "U" I think?)?

On the joystick, it should be the same button that you use to roll your ship when held down (generally button 2). As for keyboard command, I'm not entirely sure.

IIRC it's ALT-F2.
