Alongside some missing extras like the 1994 CD version of X-Wing, and the original manual for those of us who need it to get around the old copy protection system, what about the Farlander Papers?

I know the X-Wing strategy guide has most of the Farlander Papers material in its pages, but it doesn't have *all* of it. The introduction page in the strategy guide even says as much!

Hoping to see this and other things come in for X-Wing soon...
I have this book and could probably scan it for GOG if they want.

God yes, please do.
Just found out about this and did some scouring of the regular places that host old manuals. Sadly I couldn't find it anywhere so I hope it pops up here.
I haven't asked GOG about it but I did scan my copy into a PDF.

It isn't of good quality yet somehow manages to still be a 145 meg .PDF. A couple of the pages are just downright poorly scanned in places with fuzzy text(mainly up around the page numbers/edges. I only scanned at 150 DPI, 256 grays(there is no color outside of some red text on the covers). Although I did use nice quality and color on the front and back covers and those are over 55 megs of the 145. If I can make myself get back to rescanning I could fix the worse off since each page is an individual file and later combined into one. None of the pages except front and back are good quality pages but it is a pain to individually scan all nearly 100 pages again. Even then I'm about to be incapable of uploading or getting it to GOG if they wanted it for about a week or so(away from good internet connection).

And for all we know they may simply have not got the rights to distribute PDFs of the book.

and as far as i "investigated", almost all of the farlander-story is covered in the strategy guide.

The Farlander Papers was the original 'limited' edition short novel on the character you play as, which came with the game - I believe it came with the 'definitive' 1994 version. Also, as a bit of cool trivia, he is also the Y-Wing pilot that escapes the Death Star I explosion in the actual movie (Episode 4) and was the only survivor of Gold Squadron.

The Farlander Papers were integrated later into the Special Edition guide/manual which comes with the X-Wing release on GOG. Some of the wording is changed here and there, but its basically the same story.

Although having the original Farlander Papers would be nice too.

Just felt like it was missing from the X-Wing collection, whereas the TIE Fighter collection has its Steele Chronicles equivalent AND the strategy guide it was continued in.

It adds to the set when it has everything, not bits and pieces of it, like how we're missing the original X-Wing's manual, or an entire version of both X-Wing and TIE Fighter...
If you read the notes in the strategy guide it says it doesn't include all the Farlender Papers to make them still worth something to people who got it.
I have a scanned copy. I can't post links, so if anyone wants this please PM me.

Thanks. Have read it and don't think there is too much of the papers in the guide. I could be wrong.

Thank you! I have been looking for these for years and I've never seen scans of the originals before - just the transcript linked above. These are great!
Awesome, greatly appreciated.
