I'd love to hear about this as well. Still playing Tie-Fighter, but afterwards I'd like to play X-Wing - preferably in the CD-ROM edition of 1994. :)
So somebody came up with a workaround to get the TIE Fighter Collector's CD-ROM working in GOG's DOSBox configuration of the floppy version... does anybody know of a similar workaround for X-Wing?
GOG removed Star Wars: X-Wing Collector's CD-ROM with definitely more than 1200 votes from the wishlist and tied the link to the original link which was marked as completed. Proof can be seen clicking the link on this post.
At least they haven't done so with TIE Fighter yet.

But I still have hope that the CD-ROM Editions will be made available as well. Afterall, we also had to wait for some time for the Wing Commander expansions to become avaiable on GoG.

I've created a more specific community wish for the X-Wing 1994 version, since there doesn't seem to be any, if that helps.

For sure voted, I was a little disappointed that the gog version is worse than my old one :D
I still bought it mind you, and I still would buy it a second time.
Same here.
I would buy the 1994 CD editions of both games if they made them available. I think it's great having the other two versions available, but it'd be nice to have the whole progression of releases from this series.

Edit: I already own the versions of X-Wing and TIE Fighter available on GOG, and I would still pay to have the 1994 versions in my Library.
