I want to play some multiplayer for XWA and XvT. I've seen alot of people use Gameranger. I signed up for it, but is it with the $19.95 or $$39.95 per year they want for the useful features? How does the voice compare to Steam or Teamspeak? Any input is appreciated.

I am using the free version of gameranger for several years now. It is more than sufficient. I would not pay for the extra stuff.

So is there multiplayer for XWA on GameRanger? Is someone actually playing? I would love me some MultiPlayer skirmish, I've never tried it.

It is possible to play XWA on Gameranger. I do not know if people play though. You could join us playing XvT though. Playing with proper missions is more fun anyway :p

Geez, I should buy XvT too for that though :D. Is there a big enough community to make it worthwhile?

I'm an old vet of Xwing vs Tie Fighter and Xwing Alliance and it's been way to long since I've gotten to play them online. My piloting days go all the way back to the old msn gaming zone when I got my now worn out brand new launch day version of xvt. Back to the days of the Week of War events hosted at Battlestats.com. Ohhhh memories are flooding back to me lol. Unfortunately that was a couple pc's ago and I don't have my pilot data stored so I'll be starting from scratch. Anyways I'm rambling lol, do that when I'm excited! Would love to play some fur balls once again. Game Ranger here I come!

Do you guys have steam? We could host a steam group to manage play days. Because of the time zone problem it is very hard to meet people on gameranger. IRC would be an option too?
