Nvidia
I'll try running the game on my Nvidia system but that has to wait till tomorrow.

But Gog probably had good reasons to disable 3D mode.

Thanks- I appreciate all of your effort into getting this to work.
3D acceleration enabled for the main game.

Unfortunately the intro video will freeze so hit the Esc key immediately.

If you're running it on Nvidia and experiencing CTD, try forcing Triple buffering and V-sync in your control panel. That solves all my crashes with XW/TIE/XvT/XWA.

Can your patch be applied to CD version of XvT BOP?

There's no point, Hardware 3D is already enabled in the CD version.

Tried it on Nvidia and it actually works a lot better than on AMD as long as you don't use AA. Turning on AA causes gamebreaking glitches for me same as with Tie Fighter 98.

I'm using the latest drivers.

Edit: 32 bit is faulty.

Edit2: New version for 32 & 64 bit systems.

What version of nvidia drivers are required to get hardware working properly with these modifications ? I've a GTX 760 which If i remember correctly doesnt play nice with this engines hardware mode. i had the same trouble with my 560ti if i remember.
I skipped the movie, the intro credits seem to be ok but the main menu isnt drawing correctly at all.

Driver settings are default.
I dont use aero either. Windows 7 64bit

I'm either using 347.25 or 347.09, can't check at the moment.

I rolled back the drivers to 344.48 and its working ok now. Seems the latest drivers were the culprit.

Good to know. Haven't touched the game since 1999 so I assumed it had to be patched as well. Thanks for pointing the opposite.

I'm using 344.75 drivers and all games in XvT engine work fine in hardware mode. Had a problem with Tie Fighter causing BSOD with 3D acceleration turned on but solved it by forcing V-sync and Triple buffering in Nvidia Control Panel. Many games from 1997-2000 don't like modern NVIDIA hardware and cause CTD. Above solution worked for every one I tried.

Like teleguy said, these games don't like AA at all. I've got FXAA working in XWA but that's it.

347.09 do the trick for me aswell, thanks
I just discovered that dgvoodoo apparently works pretty well with XvT (the main game) and fixes many issues I had,
however not so much for the addon. Of course more testing is needed.

I tried the updated 'installers' to enable 3D but can't get either to work for me at present. I also tried rolling back to drivers that others have said works to no avail. Bummer.

I'll muck around with it later.
