I can hear speech in the cutscenes, but in flight speech seems to be nonexistant on the DOS edition. I hear them on the windows version on another PC, but the windows edition refuses to run on this particular PC. Has anyone else come across this?

The Floppy version of Tie Fighter (which GOG offers) doesn't have in-flight speech. The DOS CD-ROM version, which they don't offer, and everybody is asking for, includes speech in all the game, including in-flight communication and mission briefings.

Ah thanks, I saw the Speech Volume in the options when you hit escape, and assumed it just wasn't working, but that must be for the cutscenes.
