DAWGaMims: For some reason while doing missions, my keyboard will randomly stop receiving input. I can't use it to toggle my shield/laser recharge rate or anything. I also can't open the menu or press "space" to continue after completing/failing a mission. However, I can still press "ctrl+alt+del" to end the game since there's no other way to exit it once the error starts.
My joy stick is working fine (despite having not touched it for about 15 years)!
Ditto. I've got a brand new Saitek X-52 running Win7 64 bit on a Medion laptop, i5-2430M@2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, integrated intel HD Graphics 3000 + nVidia GT555M. Haven't tried the profile mentioned
here yet.
I initially set up my own profile and it seemed to happen within a minute ot two (on the first campaign mission, around the time I'd reach the freighters/transports). Then I cleared the profile so it's just a regular joystick, now it doesn't happen till much later (same mission, keyboard stops sometime a bit after when the second group of freighters etc arrive).
Come to think of it, I got through training and combat missions without a problem. Hmm.. makes me think it's a genuine bug in the original program. If so, there's probably not much that can be done but it'd still be nice to know the actual cause. Maybe it's something specific and we can work around it?
I'm going to try mapping Eject and Esc to buttons and see if going to the options or back to the hangar and relaunch makes a difference.
