When I try to launch the 98 version, the screen goes black and then it just crashes. Help?

I'm on a Win 7 machine.

I had the same issue. Download this unofficial compatibility patch and see if it helps. It fixed my issues.

Didn't work for me. :(

I'm having the same issue as the OP.
Still doesn't work. Help?
Have you tried using the compatibility settings? That might help.
I'd contact support; remember you have a 30 day refund policy.

So far, the support link to report a problem with the game is messed up. It just sends you back to the main Support page.
Will that patch work on WIndows 7? If so, would that make 3d hardware setting work?

It worked with my Windows 7 64-bit install and prevented it from crashing when I set the in-game graphics option to 3D hardware.

Thanks for the response...

I will give it a try and respond back...I don't have an issue with the game launching. My issue is that the game does not use 3d hardware. I can select it but it still displays the 640x480 16 bit option. I still have an old win98 box that I play this game on with 3d hardware and it is night and day.

The update fix didn't work for in game 3d hardware. Bummer....
