Does anyone know of a way to alter the game (e.g. via a hex editor) so that the slowest speed setting is... well, slower? When things get busy, I frequently find that I don't have time to deal with all the events, reset idle production facilities, check & move all my troops and agents, etc. before the turn ends and all the update messages get wiped.

Here's the approximate length of a turn on each setting:
Slowest: 2.5 minutes
Slow: 15 seconds
Medium: 3-4 seconds
Fast: 1-1.5 seconds

A way to dial it down so that a 'Slowest' turn takes several minutes (or stops time altogether) would be appreciated.

Nice to hear I'm not the only slowpoke around :) I've allways feelt this game should have been turnbased as it very much seem to function in distinct turns any way, just forcing the next turn after some time.

I can offer no answere to your question unfortionaly, but you have my sympathy :)
