recently got this game and it doesnt even open. it goes to the title screen then shuts down. what the hell is going on??

Try running the game with the OpenJK patch/mod. It is a little project that focusing on increasing the stability of the game on modern systems.

It works, but I can't play a campaign from this game. I can only play single matches in that way :(

That strange, sounds like only the multiplayer part opens. There should be a separate executable for the singleplayer as usual.

Change the compatibility on the exe to windows xp version for both jkasp.exe and jkamp.exe.
