Points for GoG for mentioning that over on the side.

Since GoG likes to branch out into offering movies, their own client, and looking to acquire new publishers like Lucas Arts, I wonder if now would be a good time for GoG to develop their own private and in-house developed VPN for playing old games like these? That's something Steam can't claim, at least not yet.

On Steam's forums there's a fixed exe to use an alternative to gamespy, I'll try it on my GOG copy tonight or tomorrow and update here to see if it works.

Well, in the description Multiplayer is advertised. Did they fix it, or is this the same thing that is sold on Steam?

GOG hopefully does that with the Galaxy Client, which is still in the beta.

Games like this and Total Annihilation work with no extra tweeking using programs like Gameranger - all it requires is an external account with Gameranger - pretty sure there were still people playing Battlefront II on there last time I played TA online.
