Hello guys!

Can someone enlighten me if there are any active players in multi still? I'll probably end up buying this gem anyway as it was super fun even with bots back in the day but wouldn't hurt to know whether its worth grabbing right away or wait for sale in future.

Cheers!
yes people still play it. you'll need gameranger or some other similar program though. not sure why it wouldn't work with the gog version but I haven't confirmed that myself yet.

You could raise a support request with GOG to ask for one so that you can join multiplayer. I don't know if they can get keys for this game but it is worth a try.

Online multiplayer is no longer officially supported. It's not up to GOG to generate keys.

I know GOG don't generate keys, but where games were listed as multiplayer and require a key for online play they had a support form you could fill in and request that GOG obtain a key for you (they get keys from their contacts for the games).

However, in this case as online multiplayer is no longer officially supported, it may not be possible for them to get keys which is why I said I don't know if they can get them for this game. Even if they could they may be useless, but I know others are using third party applications like GameRanger to play online, and I don't know if they look for unique keys.

As I said, it's worth a try. At worst GOG can only say that they can't get any. You don't lose anything by asking them.

Is there even a place to input your Cd key? IIRC it was only in the installation of the game and I haven't seen a single GOG game where you can do that.

You're right. Good point. So I'm wondering if it's neccesary or not to play online. I wont have time to play until this weekend. But if someone can chime in that'd be great.

I've done some quick looking around and I have to go now, but the GOG version doesn't have anywhere for you to do anything of the such

I'll look again when I get back

FOUND IT

It's in the registry, for 32-bit users the path will be HKEY_Local_Machine\software\lucasarts\star wars battlefront II\1.0 instead of what my picture shows.

Actually could somebody try downloading this? It's not a keygen but a program I found in the Star Wars Battlefront II\Install folder of my CD version.

The new master server/mod is available at https://gameshare.co/gamemaster then the online will work again. You don't need an install cd-key.
I prefer to use GameRanger, as most people seem to play on there.

The problem is that I think every GOG version of the game has the same key, because when I try to join the most populated server it sometimes says "your cd key is not authorized" or something along those lines. I'm guessing someone using the GOG version of the game is already in the server, as I can sometimes join and other times not.

Please give us separate keys GOG! We need it to be able to play online!
I wonder if this will work with the new GOG online servers once they get going?
Just replace the game .exe with the one linked below, and continue playng online as normal without needing to do anything else:
