Hello, is there a way to play this game in widescreen? Or at least in a higher resoultion than 1024x768?
Unfortunately no widescreen, however if you go to your install folder and find "config.exe" run that in compatibility mode set to "Windows XP Service Pack 3", you can select a higher resolution, up to 1280x1024.

If you edit the sfc.ini file in the base folder, you can set the following parameter under [3D]:

lowres=4

This sets the resolution to 1200 x 800. What it effectively does is a "vertical letterbox" -- i.e., the game plays at a 4:3 aspect ratio with two vertical black bars on either side. This prevents distortion of the HUD and 3D playfield. It's not truly a "widescreen" solution, but it keeps everything from being all stretched out looking, which personally drives me nuts.

This isn't a function of the game, it's a function of how you have your system set up. Monitors and video cards both have the ability to stretch 4:3 games to fill the screen, but that can be disabled. While I'm not sure what the Radeon settings look like, if you have nVidia, you can adjust the default behavior by going to the nVidia control panel -> Display -> Adjust desktop size and position, and select your scaling mode. I've mine set to Aspect Ratio because, like you, I'm can't stand stretched aspect ratios. I drove myself nuts trying to figure this out a few years back.
