As the title says my game is crashing immediately as I try to launch it. I double click on the icon on the desktop to launch and it will immediately close itself out and just crap out with no warning. This happens whether I'm running a clean version or modded version. I tried to utilize the unofficial 1.2.5 patch and while it got further into the launch it immediately gave me an access violation error. I have tried running in compatibility mode as well as disabling fullscreen optimizations. My Bridge Commander is also having the same issue. I used the offline installer as I don't ever connect to the net with Armada II.

Currently I'm on a Lenovo Legion T7 34IMZ5 desktop. This is a prebuilt machine. Only changes I have made to the machine are slapping an additional 1tb SSD into it for storage.

Beyond infuriating that this is still a thing after all these years and with a new GOG release.

EDIT: should also add that Voyager Elite Force is working just fine on this rig and is also from around that time, however Armada 2 and Bridge Commander crap out on launch.

Been tinkering with this a bit more and it's no longer giving me an access violation error. It will at least act like it's trying to load and will blink one frame up onto the screen before crashing to desktop with no warning. This is beyond ridiculous.

I'm having the same problem. Came here to look for solutions. If you figure it out, please post.

So far the best I've been able to come up with is using an old cracked version of the game I found online. It'll act like it wants to launch but will crap out as soon as it does and crash with no warning. I was going to try installing the BIC file codec GOG has in the support links, but the place they send us for the codec doesn't let me download it anywhere, so that's a dead end. I've tried mixing and matching files from the cracked version with the GOG version and so far no luck. hopefully they put something out soon enough though I'm not holding my breath on it.
Still nothing after a few weeks of trying to get this version to work. 1.2.5 unofficial patch is the closest I've gotten the game to launching, but when it tries to pull up it gives an EAccess violation that I can't get past. If I have only the 1.1 official patch the game doesn't even try to launch, just a quick blip and crash. Seems so far by the looks of this forum they either don't know what's up or haven't said anything yet, or alot of foot dragging is going on. beyond ridiculous and infuriating they didn't make doubly sure these things worked before putting them out there.
