So now Stellaris is out and no one is really going to care. That is sad. Lost sales for the devs....
Just checked the developers(Blind Mind Studios) official forums, the expansion DLC isn't listed anywhere on there.
Last official game announcement was from December 2014.
I guess the developers live on the steam community forums now.
We live where our community lives, aye.

Dunno, I've watched a bit of Stellaris and it looks...dull? Shallow maybe? It's a bit too zoomed out for my tastes.

Firgof you should really contact Judas to enable the orange developer color for you.

it's fantastic actually, but it depends on what you are looking for, of course. if you are looking for fancy combat, you'll be disappointed, it is grand strategy after all...

Yeah, it is awesome. But it is a larger scale. And some parts can be boring. But that kind of applies to all 4X games really.

And the combat may be automated but it is REALLY pretty.
I watched some streams of Stellaris. It looks pretty but I'm not sure how long I could play it. I think I'll stick with Sword of the Stars and Star Ruler 2 for now. Just get us the damn DLC >_<

Yeah played some Stellaris for about 4 hours. Waaaaaay too slow and boring. Star Ruler 2 is still king.

I guess I'll watch a bit more then to see if it's my thing. The stuff I watched was all fairly bland early-game (Surveying planets and...that's about it?)

Its a grand strategy game which means the game will take tens of hours to finish on the first run. So while you will survey planets, build research stations, research foreign languages and such stuff in the beginning more options will get available later.

Check Quill's already lengthy let's play series here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9TI9tzLD8WQ

But the game won't be very exciting to you if you are not in to grand strategys like Crusader Kings, Hearts of Iron, Europa Universalis since the game is based on them but adapted for 4x gameplay. Its essentially a pure empire builder game as much as I can see from Let's plays on youtube.

As for me I'm happy a more traditional 4x game like Star Ruler 2 for now.

Someone on the steam forum contacted GOG. Apparently GOG responded?

Linkerinos

Basically an ETA ranges from "tommorow" to "never".

Find other games to play or buy it on Steam I guess.

If all goes well we should have everything ready to go by Friday :)
Thanks for the info, Judas.
