Just wondering why GoG Galaxy still has the 424 version listed and the offline installer has 436. Does Galaxy take eons to update compared to the GoG website?

EDIT: So I just checked the website again and now it is saying 424 there??!! Why did the website get downgraded to the earlier version of the game?

I added a screenshot of my install to show the 436 version I got from the website. WTF is going on here?

Yeah I was on part 20 (of 40) 436 4gig pieces when now it says I'm downloading 424. Sigh. Guess I'll start over. There went 4 or so hours.
I would not bother. 424 runs like complete feces. I would wait and see why it's been downgraded. Maybe they are releasing a patched version soon and it was compiled from the 424. I really could not say for sure.
Okay, so here is a good one. Stalker 2 CTD and literally deleted the game from my PC. Like it's not even showing up in my revo uninstaller. I have never seen anything like this before. The app data files are still in place though. LOL like seriously, they need to tell us what's going on here.

Hey there! We launched the game with build version 424 on GOG GALAXY and 436 for Offline Installers. While there’s no noticeable difference in-game, GSC Game World decided shortly before launch that build 424 would be the "final" version. We were able to quickly update GOG GALAXY to 424, but to ensure everyone could start downloading the game at launch, we used build 436 for Offline Installers, as there wasn’t enough time to regenerate them with build 424.

Yesterday we rolled back the Offline Installers to build 424. We apologize for any inconvenience this may have caused, but this approach allowed us to minimize delays for players.

As mentioned, the differences between the builds are minimal and likely unnoticeable in-game. Nonetheless, there will be a patch that will bring all versions to the same build. Thank you for your understanding!

Ah, okay. Thanks for the clarification.

I had taken some time away from STALKER 2 to allow them time to distribute a patch, and then decided to check the offline installer files to see if I somehow had missed my blue update dot, and saw that the version showing was 424 rather than the 436 I had been running. To say I was puzzled would be an understatement. I was nearly alarmed. :-)

That said, my version 436 has been running flawlessly, but I'm still in the training stage and I've read that the A-Life needs a lot of work, so I'll likely wait a while longer yet. Thanks for keeping us informed!

How can I check what version I have?

I'm trying to apply the patch (424->1.0.523) and it is failing with a bunch of file modificatin errors

Patch 1.0.1 is not installed on version 436! Please make it possible to install patch 1.0.1 on 436. I don't want to download the installer again, I have a weak internet connection - 10 mbits/s (1 mb/s)

You could try to use Galaxy to repair and update the game. It scans your installation and replaces any files that don't match latest version with the correct one. Latest patch is still thirtysomething GB, but beats downloading the whole game.

update dont work on 436 please make patch that makes 436 -> 424 offline patch to update or enable updater to update 436
Hey everyone! Our apologies for this, as we know it can be very inconvenient to some of you, but as you've noticed when you have the 436 version of the Offline Installers, it's not possible to use the latest patch.

In this case, you'll need to redownload the game with version 424, or as MarkMoelders suggested, you could try using GOG GALAXY to repair and update the game.

We're very sorry about this and we'll try to avoid similar situations going forward. :(
