The current deal for the 3 STALKER games seems great however, I am concerned that there seems to be a consensus that to get the full potential from these games they must be modded.

I'm not sure about the second two games but, it would appear that for the first of the series the mods are mainly for release 4 and the GOG release is 6 which is probably not compatible.

So my question is, even at the current price deal, are they worth getting if many / most of the mods are incompatible for some / or all of them?

Well GOG just released a "mod spotlight" for STALKER - http://www.gog.com/news/mod_spotlight_stalker_series - so a few at least are compatible.

Thanks. Tried to get the CS Complete to work, but it keeps freezing (even with RAM patch). Will keep looking. Enjoying my continued travels in the Zone.

Perhaps there are some other forums that can help with this issue. You could try contacting GOG Support also but probably won't hear back for some time (as they are swamped right now, during the sale).
