jefequeso: ... I don't get it.

I'm talking about the different render options. Not the new patch.

I decided to stick with dx9 since it seems to fix some of the rendering issues I've been having, and it looks a lot lusher and more interesting in shadow. Although I generally love godrays, turning them off in dx9 actually improves the atmosphere IMO, and makes the visuals look a lot more cohesive.
Check the rest of LA section at the same forums as well: http://www.gsc-game.com/index.php?t=community&s=forums&s_game_type=xr&sec_id=19

A hub for devs, testers, and modders alike, the most operative intel, updates, fixes, advice, etc. flows through there and is managed faily well.
(A lot of the info is doubled in ModDB too, but the old-school GSC forums are less cluttered in comparison.)
Huh... I just realized I haven't seen anything but sunny weather thus far. A bug? Or does it just not rain very often?

there was some issue or other. believe the patch has sorted it.
I did actually get a gloomy day right at the start if the game, but not since

Saw in the buglist thread on GSC that apparently it's been an issue with dx9 and dx10 renderers. Switched to static lighting just to test it, and it immediately started raining. So... I dunno.

hmmm... i just switched from the military warehouses to bar and got an overcast sky...
we shall see what happens
Aaaaaand, the in-game code for X18 is completely wrong.

I think that cinches the deal. I'm going to wait until this gets a few more patches. I'd really like to enjoy LA, not spend all my time trying to figure out what is and isn't broken.

how do you mean?

Edit: from moddb just a while ago

dezodor 21mins 34secs ago replied:

the patch which was uploaded this morning contains fix for that, but it also depends on which patch you downloaded. the one which was posted last night, is not the proper one. it misses 3 hotfixes, such as the wires.

so... redownload the patch maybe an idea for all?! O_o

I did, actually. However, my main menu still says 1.3001 instead of 1.30013. Maybe it didn't install properly? I tried installing it twice.

did you use any of the 3rd party fixes and mods?
- it was advised to do a clean install if so...

edit: scrub that, mine says the same...
Edit2: yeah, redownload the patch - v1.3001 is last nights incomplete patch

Ok, I'll try again.
Didn't seem to fix the code problem, although this might just be because I'm starting from a saved game.

I cycled through some previous saves, and it seems that there's at least some variation in the weather it loads. So that might be fixed. I prefer to play the game in dx9 rather than with static lighting...
