Ya never know...

That's really weird though. What settings are you playing on?

Ok.

On a completely unrelated note, I'm getting a really weird flickering effect with "sun shadows" on. It looks as though the entire level is rapidly changing from day to night. Or rather, like the lighting effects keep disappearing. It seems to be the worst in the southern portion of Cordon, although I'm getting it in other areas as well.

Anyone else having this problem?

EDIT: possibly only occurs in early morning. Not sure yet.

look above in this thread (common problem it seems) and under the one in general, also check dezowave forums at http://dezowave.com
I'm almost wondering if it might be best to just wait for a few patches, since there's a chance new patches might break my saved game anyway (at least based on my previous experience with early access games')

I'm really enjoying it though :(. I've been dying to play a new STALKER game.

Downloaded and currently installing. Haven't played SoC yet (though do own just have other things that came up) I'm currently wanting to try and perhaps reignite my interest in the series been kind of blah haven't found many games capturing my interest recently. Finished Pripyat and enjoyed so hope this will be good as well.

Anyone else have trouble with install and bug crashes? I assume yes on bug crashes from what I am reading and being a STALKER game but don't see much on install.

Yeah a few people - just make sure you follow the basic bugs post i made earlier in the thread, and you should be okay, though as you haven't played SOC - play that first!

Alright, fair enough.

Sorry, I should have expanded on that:

Basically play SoC first because its great - and LA is even better, but you'll have a greater appreciation of LA if you've played SoC first - and doing the opposite will sap some of the enjoyment from SoC.

Edit: also LA is far harder!

quick fix for those with awful load and quicksave times: remove any OS compatability settings.
Okay, couple of people PM'd about turning mostion blur 100% off - seems theres an amount always set.
To get rid of it, open the command console (press the ~ key - or it might be ¬` key on some laptops - like mine) then type "r2_mblur off" (a list will come up as you type so you can also select it) and hit return. job done! :)

Wanted to say thanks for that recommendation besides enjoying SoC before the Lost Alpha. It is a bit better paced and introduces more slowly where Lost Alpha kind of throws you in looking for anomalies first thing.
