I'm looking for the best, or at least a really good mod for SoC.
I don't want it to change the main story, I just want some fancy effects and graphics.
Autumn Aurora 2 is probably the best all in one mod for the game. I love it and couldn't imagine the game without it
9.7 with 273 votes on Mod Db sounds good enough for me. :)

Would you suggest it way above Complete 2009 mod?
Complete is very good too

Yes, don't listen to other people who say Complete is good. it absolutely ruins the gameplay by making it easier while simultaneously destroying the atmosphere

when you play the game vanilla or with AA2 the difficulty isn't some kind of artificial type bullcrap, it actually changes how you progress through the world, the tension of every combat encounter, and the type of combat tactics you will employ. the Complete series of Stalker isn't Stalker at all IMO, and I know this because my first time playing Stalker i tried Complete because everyone and their mother says so and I got bored to death. I tried it a year later with AA2 and now it's one of my favorite games

But does the AA2 include the bugfixing galore too, or not?

Only go with AA2 or anything else that should be added to the GOG version?

Aside from that, I agree with what you say about Complete. I first tried Complete before I read up on it and was wondering why anyone would think this game to be hard, while it has some of the most engaging combat I have ever come across without Complete.

absolutely. AA2 is relatively bug free and contains most of the major fan patches as far as I know

AA2 is an all-in-one complete overhaul mod. I wouldn't attempt to add other mods to it unless you know what you're doing.

Ok. I went through the firs quests with Complete. I now uninstalled to try AA2, you convinced me :-)
No luck here with AA 2.1. It crashes every time I try to start a new game. I installed the mod after a clean install of the game. What could possibly be wrong?
Why the hate on Complete? It's awesome, and I shouldn't have asked for a better mod because there are none.
Complete makes Stalker playable on every aspect. I don't care if it makes it easier. Hell, the game needed that anyway.
I don't want to be sniped by a guy from across the land with a pistol for example. With Complete, this never happens and I can actually KILL others with headshots now.

Same here, the best I got going after some trying was actually starting the game, but even then it crashed soon there after.

What graphic card do you have? I was wondering if it's something brand-related. I use a R9 270 btw.
