I am someone that does not use the standard WASD system. I am able to change those keys to what I want, however, anytime I encounter a ladder, it does not recognize the change, so I have to use "W" and "S" to climb up and down...smh.

The flashlight key is also idiotic. Instead of simply assigning a single key, I have to open the wheel and then use the flashlight key...I mean, WTF? Who came up with that idea?

And before anyone starts, please spare me the typical, not to mention, childish...hur dur...you no used WASD?!?!?!?!? How you play with other keys? you must suck at games...hur dur.

Or press L, but it can't be bound to something else, because its not in the controls. The quick melee is another bug, even if i bind it to side mouse button, only the V key works. Thankfully i bound mouse 5 to V in the Logitech G Hub, which i usually use only on older games from the dark ages, when games didn't recognized side buttons.
Also some options don't save, invert mouse for instance, so after every start i need to change it back. These bugs will be ironed out, but they are annoying.

horray

And the next bug is that the inverted controls like mouse Y is not saving. On each new game start I have to enable those again ....

Just regarding the Flashlight - you can also use Middle Mouse Button click by default.
I *love* not being able to rebind critical controls that I use every 5 seconds /s

It's Cyberpunk 2077 all over again, but instead of un-rebindable interact key, it's unrebindable FLASHLIGHT key.

L for flashlight is the worst possible bind, I have to REACH my hand all the way over to L, which is especially problematic when I'm playing in the dark.

Yeah, you can use MMB for flashlight, but I pretty much never use MMB for clicking, just scrolling. Middle mouse button click has always felt really unreliable to me, even with a good mouse. I've just been conditioned not to use it.

And you can't bind f2 and f4 quickslot, you have to HOLD F1 for "F2" and HOLD F2 for "F4"

I blame consoletards for that control decision. I'm constantly using the wrong item because I'm used to CoP's item quickbinds, which actually make sense.

Try using your HOLD quickbind trying to use a medkit when you're about to die (I mean, you obviously bind medkit to F1, but what if you bound it to one of the hold ones?)
I agree with msot complaints here, and of course ALL controls should be FREELY re-bindable to ANYTHING you want.
And by ANYTHING i mean joystick buttons, controller buttons, keyboard keys, mouse buttons (however many you have), AND combinations for keys.
Sadly, very few games allow such freedom (which again, should be an effing standard, not a rare exception).

That said, i am one of the lucky ones, not having much problems.
Still, the controls rebinding options are very mediocre, and for the sake of others, i hope they address that.

I moved leaning to Q/E to free the Z/C for quick slots.
So i use "Z" for applying medkit, and "Hold Z" for applying a bandage.
This feels natural to me, as tapping Z is quick and so is stabbing oneself with a needle, while holding Z takes longer as does applying a bandage.
Similarly, i use "C" to stab myself with the anti-radiation needle, while using "Hold C" to drink a Vodka or whichever slower action i assigned in that slot.

And luckily, i didn't really have too much problems with the MMB for Flashlight.
But eventually i changed my keyboard profile to move the "L" key to "CapsLock" (blessed be the QMK! thank gods).

What i find much more annoying is that i must remember to disable my Joysticks in Device Manager before i start the game, otherwise the game thinks i have a freaking XBox controller and forces the controler scheme without ability to disable that and switch to KB+Mouse.
Luckily, i currently do not play any other games i would need the joysticks for, so i can live with that FOR NOW.
