I own this game on CD (4 to be exact) and it installed in two flavours, dos and windows. The windows version was far superior in video quality and gameplay. The windows version will not work no matter what I do, so I have to suffer the low quality dos version.

Would be more than happy to rebuy this for a windows-functioning version, any one know?

EDIT: Definitely the DOS version! Runs within DOSBox, plus there's no Play/More/Exit splashscreen before the Load/New/Exit screen like the Windows version purportedly had (according to the manual). Additionally, the video quality seems to be about what I recall (i.e. not very good).

Poor early FMV games... aged so poorly, like early 3D games. Oh well, the classics are still worth playing!

I can take a look for you, Mobeeuz, once I finish downloading. I too have my triple-thick CD case of original Spycraft, although I haven't even attempted to get it playing in years (either version).

I don't recall the DOS/Win differences. I am pretty sure I only ever played the DOS version. But if nothing else, I can at least estimate the quality of the video for you! Maybe I can take a screen capture of a cutscene.

As I'm sure you both know, DOS versions are significantly more stable than Windows versions, so for GOG to maintain a high standard of compatibility they almost need to go with this (which you may disagree with, or may have data to show I'm wrong).

If you can find those extras anywhere, please send a message to GOG about them! They're always adding new stuff (most recently with the Ultima and Wing Commander series).
