I was thinking about getting the Spore Collection again (lost the Disc version years ago) and was going to get it on Steam being it is on sale for $10 but from looking over the posts on Steam it seems it is hit or miss, mostly miss, on the Steam version working with Linux, but a few have said the GOG version work fine on Linux.
So my question is does the GOG version work on Linux and if so what do you need to do to get it working,
I am on POP OS 22.04 (Ubuntu).
Thanks.

I installed it via 'Bottles' and it runs 'ootb' in the 'Gaming' environment. I haven't played it long yet: Installed, loaded old Windows save game and flew around a bit. Placed a few animals and plants, saved and reloaded. Seems like everything is working fine though.

EDIT: That should not mean that you need Bottles necessarily. I don't know. I do install everything with this tool because I am lazy and not very talented :D
