Here is a mod that lets you disable the hud in Splinter Cell.

It was submitted by the user drennan in my Hud Free Contest. He really went all out. You can even toggle it on/off.

Here's what drennan wrote:


And here it is. Quoting from the readme:

In "HUD-free" mode:

* The Communication Box will be hidden.
* Your life bar will be hidden.
* Your current weapon/item/ammo status will be hidden.
* The timer (when available) will be visible.
* The Interaction Menu will only appear if there are two or more choices.
* Quick Inventory will still be available.
Remember, HUD-free and normal save files are incompatible, make a new profile, make backups, etc. Let me know how it works out. :)

Hi,

thanks for the mod, i tried it with the steam version, but it didn't do anything, i copied the two files inside the system directory and edited the ini files accordingly, but nothing happens when i press tab.
I also tried to map the action to another key but nothing...
One note: i installed the widescreen fix and the ps3 hd textures, may have to do with one of them?

I'm not sure. I didn't make the mod.

You shouldn't need a widescreen mod though. I enabled widescreen by doing this:

To enable widescreen, open the splintercell\system\SplinterCellUser.ini

and change the following line to the resolution of your monitor:

Resolution=1600x1200

to

Resolution=1920x1080
