DawArrior: Thank you so much.
Why is it 0 though?
I'm stuck at the entrance and I have a white hand and a couple clerics healing all the time and also 4 crossbow towers and about 20 marksmen.
PaladinNO: Glad it worked for you. :)
Yeah, the 0 had me confused as well. My guess is, someone on the dev team entered the wrong number into the code, and no one ever bothered to fix it.
As for your strategy, try it the other way around - 20 towers and 4 Marksmen. Spread Marksmen behind the first row of towers to draw the enemy aggro while your towers shoot at them. Don't bother with the Aria, you get too little of it to maintain anything. When Clerics use their mana, you need food to replenish that, so then you need both a supply of food and Aria to have Clerics and keeping them useful.
My tip is that you focus on Wood and Stone for the towers, and later on Iron for your Marksmen and food for supply. Note that at this point the default enemy attack waves will have increased, and you need as many Marksmen as you can get. I don't remember the supply limit at this stage in the game, but whatever it is, try maxing it (trust me, the map gets even harder mid-way).
And care where you move your avatar near the valley entrance. Your "friendly" battlemages that tag along will move up to attack incoming enemies and trigger the attack waves if you aren't careful.
Workers also always goes for the associated resource that is nearest in
air distance - meaning if a hunter sees a deer in the enemy spy camp, they will go there and trigger the attack waves.
Once you take the peak, you can set up more towers in the enemy base, and then you can focus on Aria if you want.
SPOILERS MANY SPOILERS:-> Take your time.
There is a trickle of enemies that flow though this part of the map. Use your avatar and rune monument help to deal with then when they come. Wait until the are deep inside your territory and get between them and the way out. Not bad when they head over to the first aria side. But the ones that come across to the worker monument can be a pain if your that side of them. Place you and your rune fighter just above Einar. Sometime they do come around the bottom of that pond. So be wary. Keep an eye out for moving red dots. :-)
I always take out the bandits around the first Aria spot (Left lower corner.) before I take out the spiders on the right hand side , setup the camp. Takes a bit. But run and hide always works. Take a potshot or two (I tend to play an ice mage type) When they get too close run. I click a spot up the hill. When the bandits give up I click near them to come back down. Rinse and repeat. Until done.
(but, clearing the right first, gives you your rune monument and more help) Take out the spiders around the camp getting the Rune monument clear first. Then the workers Monument. 5 on chopping next 5 on stone next 5 chopping next 5 on buildings. Grab the stone folk when they drop their stone off and build the quarry using all 5. Quicker build and once they are al building go do something else.
Next lot out I build the first town upgrade to get more workers. Take 8 workers, 4 per tower and start building towers across the valley just south of the entrance where the spider is, Use your avatar better sight range and don't enter the valley too far or you'll trigger the swarm. SAVE before you go near it. Middle two Towers then outer until they cover a good portion of the walls each side. Pull the workers out when an enemy comes close so you don't trigger the alert. Put them back to work when the enemy is dead.
Then build tower depth.
Get your sawmill if you have it Woodcutters shacks up near the sawmill. Keep the builder away from entering the building so the original wood choppers inhabit it. I tend to tac a number on the building crew stub. While pumping out what I want from workers to fighters. On the longer builds I get every worker that is standing around into it. But not those already engaged in work. When possible build all the longer time buildings. Archery 2nd & 3rd worker numbers and food for maxing the army buildings. The more the merrier.
Forge, archery (upgrade archers to double-shot first) 8 archers when you can, Aria gathering (Upgraded to shield + mana then create them) 2 medics, when you can, food production store first near the fishing hole bottom right two ponds. Beef farms where they fit. And once the area around your worker monument is cleared Grain farm(s) (Quicker food production quicker you build your army) and food store. I do 35 archers 15 medics. Medics & Archers, on hold or the blighters try and rush out to get killed. Better control I think. When you get the last building upgrade map
You should also get the Paladin building. I go for 12 Paladins with the fire upgrade. I vary between 25 and 30 medics, The more medics the more healing gets done and the less replacements you need to make. But if you go overboard the enemy can get amongst you defeating the point of archers. The rest of the army are upgraded archers with double-shot. I use the paladins to take out the Towers. Putting the archers and medic on hold between the towers the paladins are taking out.
After finishing the whole map. I then go talk to Big Fred (Einar) by the travel stone near the start. And I can jump around the map via the travel stones playing has uncovered.
Have a good look around the map when your done. One spot at least can be missed.
