I don't care about such things, like Galaxy, because it's "Optional".
I do care if lazy devs, make it a requirement for accessing multi-player.
If a game has Multi-player modes, it should have an in game client, not use Galaxy (General talk here, doesn't apply to SpellForce 3).

I'm all for adding options, for any features, whether I might want them, or not, as long as they're totally optional.
I don't even care if achievements are switched on by default, as long as I can switch them off, and never see them in game.

Where I might take issue in adding such features, it's purely a matter of priorities.
Essential features must come first, including game affecting bug fixes.

One feature I consider more essential, for disability access reasons, is a tactical pause function for single player.
It would also make it easier for new players to get used to the core games systems, before they move onto multi-player.
Plus, those that only want to play in single player mode, have no effect on the multi-player modes at all.
So I would also enable it for the solo Skirmish mode.

Again it should be optional, but I'd consider enabling more disabled people to experience the game essential.
The devs, apparently don't. Which is a more serious problem than enabling any side feature.

So don't think users voicing their dislike for a feature, is them trying to deprive those that want it.
It's much more important to show there's no one size fits all, mentality here on GOG.
Make every possible feature optional, and let each user decide which ones they want to use, not the devs, or any vocal mob.
I'm on your side when it comes to optional features and the fact that this is the key feature of gog Galaxy: You're never forced to use it.
On the other hand i'm disappointed that for those who want to use the today common services like achievements and espacially cloudsaves Spellforce 3 does not deliver the possibility to use it. I consider myself to be not the only one who would like to have support for these services.

So "why not bying the steam version"? Because it's important to me not to support DRM systems, but at the same time i'm enjoying to have let's say cloud saves. I mean, what's the reason behind the later addition of cloud saves via galaxy to good old games like Titan Quest or Mafia 1
For example: Playing the game on PC on the weekend in hometown, then realizing that you can't continue playing the savegame on your Laptop, when arriving at your University/workingplace-city on sunday evening, because you forgot about copying the savegame via USB stick, should not be an issue anymore nowadays.

I guess the addition of cloud saves to Spellforce 3 is not on the top priority list and there are for sure things, that are way more important than that. However I guess many customers here on gog would be pleased to have this

Long story short: Missing Achievements/cloud saves are not a dealbreaker to me, but it's fallen out of time to not have these (always optional) services in my humble opinion.

Actually, we do have it in the games code, but it's currently only the Steam clients system it gets applied to.
The same patch will get applied to both Steam, and GOG releases, and the same patch notes.

Unfortunately we added the achievements just shortly before the release. Also we previously never did GOG achievements as we never really saw a demand for this. Will keep an eye on this.

The system's in the game, they need to figure out how to get it working on GOG Galaxy.
Same thing with Cloud Saves, which I assume is a higher priority than adding achievements.

Coreplay never released any games on GOG, and this is Grimlore Games' first release.
I expect both features will be added to Galaxy, and thankfully only their, as the store clients seems to be required for both features.
So though such bug fixes have no effect here yet, if the achievements do get activated, it will.

I dislike achievements. Playing the game is the reward. Brag when you beat it.
Achievements are for children who expect to be rewarded for existing.
If you want armchair rewards, borderlands 2 is on sale. You can get achievements for turning it on and walking away.

99% of achievements are pointless anyway. You literally can't fail to get them.

Dear DEV. Focus on rewarding and epic gameplay, i.e The game you made.

You are acting entitled and spoiled. Achievements are in no way whatsoever requisite for gameplay, nor are they even legitimately additive anymore.

Who cares about acheivements? They are pointless. Personally I would prefer time and effort put into more productive efforts.
Complete all the dialogue, like the German text when you talk to Quirr and decide not to raid the slaughterhouse (Wird ueberarbeitet). :)

For steamlike achievements you need a client, I do not want a client to play the game.

I get achievements, they are like stamp collections and are sometimes funny (like eating a whole family in The Forest or spending more than two months building a base rather than looking for your son). But they are by no means a reason for me to play or enjoy a game, rather a byproduct.
They should fix/finish more important things first than implementing new ones, though.
