Hello.

Are there any mods or other ways to speed up this game a little like it is a feature in most RTS'? Vanilla Spellforce 1 is right now unplayable for me due to how long it take for units to move or do whatever.

1. Hit "Ctrl+]" to open the console.
2. Type "AppSession:SetTimeMultiplier(2) to make the game 2 times faster, "AppSession:SetTimeMultiplier(10) - to make 10 time faster, "AppSession:SetTimeMultiplier(1) to revert back to default speed.

Another helpful command I use: UnExplore:Enable(0) to disable fog of war.

This post should honestly be stickied. For anyone who doesn't want to take years to finish Spellforce due to how slow the game is, it's invaluable. It takes away so much of the tediousness. This console command is not documented anywhere, at least not where I looked. I started my playthrough in the beginning of 2017 and haven't finished it yet, so that should tell you something.

Ha ha, yes, so true. Thankfully this tricks make the game much more enjoyable for me.

There is yet another thing about this game that kills the fun though. If you are not at lease 1-3 levels below monsters on current level there is no way you beat this level. You have to come back when you grow to an appropriate level first. I'm stuck in the middle of second DLC now because I can't find anywhere to grind for more levels, also started years ago.

Which map? What kind of avatar are you playing? This game is ridiculously unbalanced, with heavy melee + boons being the best hero hands down. Well, black magic is also OP in both expansions due to Awaken Dead (or whatever the spell is in English, I'm playing in German, Tote Erwecken), but like all mages quite underpowered in the Order of Dawn. I played Order of Dawn with a black mage on hard, but reduced the difficulty for the last 2-3 maps because I saw it's basically impossible to win as a mage at my level (or maybe at whatever level). I finished Breath of Winter a week ago or so with a dagger + black magic avatar and was much easier but still kept it on normal because hard is more tedious than fun. The second-to-last map is a bitch, though. As for grinding, I never grinded (ground? lol) because I didn't know the command you posted and still finished them both. I saw a let's play on YouTube and the level differences at the end were honestly not that big, I was 26 and the let's player who did grind 30. You still miss out on the best toys throughout the campaign, so grinding is still advantageous. You can just speed up the game like 15-20 times when you have a big enough army and go do something else for 15 minutes while the game plays itself.
