I had to choose compatibility option as Windows 98/ME to even get the graphics option menu to appear.

Now, that is the most I get from this game. When I try to actually run the main game I get a Fatal Error WIP 2000 or something.
I tried all the different graphical options, same result.

It's not that I spent much money, but it is annoying that the game won't even run, even though Vista is listed as compatible.

I have plenty of games bought from GOG and this is (only?) the second time I basically threw my money down the toilet, so....meh.
I guess my fault that I didn't check the forum first.

Buyer beware.

Just to add this isn't tied to Vista, Windows 7 here and having the exact same problem.

youre lucky...i dont even get that far...i just get a short blink and then nothing with a new process running doing nothing i can observe
would love to get this game running...

i am in the same boat
I have tried

Vista 32 + 3000 AMD Series -> no go
Vista 64 + 4000 AMD Series -> no go

I have been unable to play the game since purchase
I will try in an old Vista - Intel GPU but this is getting old......

Then try it with 1 CPU affinity.

BTW,
HD3470 Vista-32/Win7-32, Catalyst 9.7: retail Soulbringer version - no problem
HD5770 Win7-32, Catalyst 11.3: retail Soulbringer version - no problem
HD7790 Win7-32, Catalyst 13.x: retail Soulbringer version does not work
GOG version (with 1 CPU affinity) works with 13.5b2, 13.6b2, 13.8b1, 13.11b1;
does NOT work with 13.4, 13.8b2, 13.10b1.

I strongly advise to fill bug report at AMD site about the issue. Those sons of a gun should know
there are lot of peoples who care about old games.

For a different reason I had to replace my graphics card (and primary hdd) and went with a Nvidia solution even though I am NOT a fan of Nvidia (I used to in the late 90's and up t mid 2000s although I never forgave them for oblitarating 3DFX.)

ANYWAY, my point is the rest of the hardware is the same although I had to do a fresh installation of Vista 64.
The game now runs.
