I had this game & could not get past the british sounding Americans, and several other bugs this game has that I don't think ever got fixed.

Try installing the Cinema Sound Mod 1.3.
This Mod adds incredible sounds, awesome cinematic music and voices to the game.

Pvt_Charles, I´m not a member of GOG team, but I suggest you to update the chipset driver.
I have the retail version of this game and I solved the same problem doing that.

Name some of these "several other bugs" because after a few days of play I have found none. The weapon sounds are near perfect, explosions are beefy, and voice acting is solid compared to almost every other World War 2 game past and present. This is a pointless thread but I felt the need to refute your one sentence review of a Good Old Game*

Umm. I would suggest you ignor this individual downplay of Heroes. Its a Great Game that is Challenging, but rewarding to play. Great Graphics. Games Got Good reviews on the internet. Almost bug free ( Not Anything Major - Very Minor ). If your into a Statigic WW2 Sim that not Easy - This is for you. Learn to love that Save Feature !

The game isn't challenging in a good way. It attacks you from off-screen where you cannot see the enemies. You say "love the save feature". Well, that IS the only way you're going to get through this game.....by reloading, over and over again. Playing something six times until you finally know by heart where all the enemies are isn't "challenging", it's tedious hard work, and boring.
Those 'great graphics" come with a price.....the game takes a looooong time to load, and runs slow on my machine.

Can´t install, says the files are corrupt. Downloading again. Any advice?

Windows 7 home premium version. Have this problem and problems with 5-6 other games from gog that won´t work!

Anyone wants to help me out. Have tried the advice from gog but, so far no change.

Bought this in the recent Russian Invasion sale . I couldn't even get past the tutorial and I had a headache already . Yes, this has no base building and resource gathering, yay ! But it's still too much of a micromanagers paradise . I mean, click to get inventory, click to transfer weapon and ammo to individual soldier's inventory, click to move gun to hand, then click to Direct fire, click for each individual target, click to switch weapons, click click click . Too many clicks .

This isn't how real combat works. You tell a squad of guys to get into that building and hold the crossroads. That's it. You leave them to make decisions on their own, not tell them every single thing to do like they were babies .

I just bought it in the sale also.
Take a quick look at the manual to learn some of the basic commands. Give yourself about 45 mins to an hour for the learning curve. I felt frustrated at first also but once I got the hang of it the game is awesome and very addictive. You will be glad you took the time to get the basics down.

I can´t get this game to open. Sometimes it will download ok and sometimes no but, when I try to install ----I get the same responed in both situations.

Files corrupt--checksum error at chuck 139. Have downloaded the new downloader several times as well as the game, (with and without the antivirus protection) chedked the hard drive.
Anyone have any ideas?
