Mikadosan: rename your sof2mp.exe to mohaa.exe
I'm probably going to sound dumb but I cannot find that anywhere in the files, I've uninstalled and reinstalled it after renaming files I think are close to what that is but really there is nothing in there named sof2mp.exe

Easy, go to your Sof2 Folder and find sof2mp.exe. Now you rename it to mohaa.exe. Easy :D

yo miki i cant find u on steam i see

your and burnhill chat maybe u can add me just superdec
I also bought SoF2 on sale from GOG. I do have it also on cd but it in storage and thought just buying it would be easier...mistaken.

First of all the game don’t launch. Opening it from desktop will just increase brightness and won’t open. Multiplayer will not open either...both tried from the program files folder as well. Then changed the name to mohaa.exe which does open multiplayer...but in a small windown.

Then I did as googled instructions with changing some files and editing sof2sp.cfg...and single player version does open now in a normal full screen (when named mohaa of course) but I never even play single player and multiplayer is still opening in small window. Tried changing same info to sof2mp.cfg and etc but nothing works and after 3 hours I’m starting to lose my mind xDD.

RE-EDIT: oooh finally all my problems were fixes by 1fxmod.org/clpatch :)). I also realized the game wasn’t showing any servers but this also fixed that.

I find this all a bit confusing. Hi everyone, just joined up with GOG for the first time today (mac user since 2008, went back to windows and a g sync gaming laptop since I was sick of paying inflated prices for inferior and downright crappy GFX hardware).

I am liking win 10 a lot overall.

I got the "new member" 50% discount on SOF II showing when I log in, as a time limited intro offer.

I was about to buy it as I like action FPS and it's only 8 AUD (about 5 USD), but suddenly I realised I should check the discussions first, and I am very glad I did.

The reason I am confused is that GOG flat out claim win 10 compatibility for SOF II right on the product page.

When something is listed as compatible, in my mind that means install and play, simple as that. So nothing's changed as of May 2020? The game will NOT work on win 10 unless I apply workarounds? Is this correct?

Thank you very much in advance, and hope this finds you all well!

Cheers from down under

This is all about the SINGLE PLAYER game of SoF2. I won't be doing Multi-Player.

I just bought the GOG versions of SoF and SoF2 in the hope of a better result. I already owned them on CD, but hoped that fixes might have been bundled into the GOG versions. Note that I did both the ONLINE and the OFFLINE GOG installations with a full cleanup between them.

Soldier of Fortune works without issue - it's SoF2 that is having problems.

My SoF2 USED TO WORK on a previous version of Windows 10. I did a format and fresh installation of Win10 1909 and now in SINGLE PLAYER it runs the splash screens and then gets to the main (green) menu screen but is locked up there...

There is some flicker in the menu screen and it's playing a single tone "beat" that starts like da da da and works the way up to dadadadada and then calms down a little and starts all over again.

*** I attempted the following and hoped that someone could point me to information on editing the .CFG file, which seems to be the one thing I haven't found info on:

- Rename executable to mohaa.exe
- Run as Administrator
- Run in Windows XP and Windows 7 compatibility
- Tried the patched executables

ANY help would be much appreciated!

Hi, I wonder if you might still have a link to the information that you found regarding the fix for Single Player? THAT is the one I'm trying to make work and have tried everything else, I think, but can't seem to find anything on tweaking the .CFG file.

Thanks for any help!

On Windows 10 - straight-up, this simply does not work out of the box. Had to rename the executable to "mohaa" as others have posted here just to keep the game from outright crashing. However, once in the menu, there are two cursors - the windows one, and the game's graphical one. Menu elements don't respond correctly to clicks.

What a mess.
I don't have to rename anything. I just set comatibility to "Win XP SP3" and it works just fine after that, just like some other users have been reporting on this thread.

Before that it used to crash, white screen, it changed my gamma settings so high I could see nothing in Windows after the game crashed, with some "stopped responding" error.

Win10 Pro (x64)
AMD FX 9590 8xCore 4.7GHz
16GB RAM
NVidia GeForce GTX 970 4GB (Driver v446.14)

How did you fix the launch problem? I intalled the 1fxmod.org/clpatch and i still cannot open single player, only the brightness increased
I'm having this problem too, can't find any solution the 1fx mod didn't work, nor did changing compatibility to win xp sp3

am going to contact GOG diret to ask fro a fix or my money back...

I'm having the same issue. All colours on my monitor are so bright. Brightness is the same. Maybe GOG version is broken. I will try to download this from sites like Torrent etc.
