I think I did that I ran the SOF Plus exe and a window opened up for like half a second and disappeared when I open up the game I can't get to any options but controls, nothing for window size, which is windowed.

its going to generate a zip file with in the install folder, open that zip and extract the contents to the SOF install folder over writing everything.

Lord_Kane: its going to generate a zip file with in the install folder, open that zip and extract the contents to the SOF install folder over writing everything.

Ist there any reason that the contents of the (first) ZIP file must be extracted to the SOF directory? I mean, if all it's doing is creating a new ZIP file... can't you just create that new zip file elsewhere and then extract the new file into the SOF directory?

This seems... oddly convoluted.

I can only imagine that this is the way it is because it's "borrowing" elements from the original SOF install to create the new ZIP. Which might make sense, from the standpoint of "Activision lawyers requiring proof the original game exists."

Yeah, Activision, EA, and Ubisoft... intentionally making life harder for their paying customers (while not standing in the way of the actual bad guys in any fashion) for more than twenty years!

I can't access the console in SoFPlus even with the +set_console 1 on the Properties it won't work, when I want to play missions I want to open the console by pressing the ` or ~ it won't open

Note: just found out how to, I pressed Run as Administrator on the Application and now I can open the console also Press '

Most likely a corrupt download.

Try downloading again, and see if the problem persists. I just got it from official mirrors, and it unzips just fine.

Umm.. should I get SoFplus or this?

It says that it includes SoFplus + other community patches

EDIT: ah nvm, maybe it's the full game already patched.. and it's not exactly legit now.

I completed the steps described above, but SoF doesn't launch. My mouse cursor switches to hourglass for a few seconds then goes back to normal. Nothing happens. No SoF process appears in Task Manager. And in GOG Galaxy the "Play" option remains greyed out until I reboot.

Any ideas on how to fix this

P.S. - Follow up to my post above:

Found YouTube video that suggested creating a copy of SOF.EXE and rename it to MOHAA.EXE. Launched game using MOHAA.EXE and it worked perfectly. However, when launching MOHAA.EXE from GOG Galaxy 2.0, the "Play" option remains greyed out even after exiting the game. But game will still launch from shortcut outside of GOG Galaxy.

Galaxy is weird, and its weirdness is what made me stop using it....

that links to an older patch for an older GOG version as GoG released a patch in 2022 to fix issues with some windows 10 update that broke stuff the proper link is here: http://sof1.megalag.org/sofplus/download/release/sofplus-client-patch-20140531-gog-kb4571756.zip
