How does this compare to megarace games?
I bought the megarace games, and they handle like pure crap with keyboard.
Do you HAVE to play with a controller to play it?

In terms of controlling with the keyboard, it works. I don't remember how Megarace games run, but Slipstream 5000 works fine. Obviously it is not Test Drive and the extra dimension makes it that more complicated, but I would say you should be ok.

You might want to wait for more opinions on the matter though.

You should be fine w/ the keyboard, and there are plenty of pretty cheap joysticks out there that you can buy, if needed. I'll try to see if it'll work w/ a Logitech game controller.

Keyboard should work fine, as does the mouse. Both take some time to get used to the "inverted axis" controls on some configurations, and don't forget to release the throttle button when taking some tight corners on some tighter tracks.

I am really interested in a good arcade racer game.

You can configure your keys to everything you want. There is no reverse box, but nothing stops you from setting the keys you like to any movement.
