Welcome to Slave Zero X, launch version G1.00! [See note below about update to G1.01]

[ Post Edit Note: an incremental patch G1.01 is now live which should enable DRM-Free / offline use of the game's DLC for pre-order and Deluxe edition owners. ]

Poppy Works and Ziggurat Interactive are proudly supporting Slave Zero X to continually improve the game after launch. Below we've list some of the current known issues with G1.01 which have pending fixes (such as bugs or unintended behaviors) to look out for in the latest version of the game. We'll update this area as patches are distributed to address these issues.

- When you reach the end-game content, Crimson Citadel, note that there is a bug in this version where choosing 'Restart Stage' after a run can cause you to lose unlocked upgrades purchased from the campaign Shop. This will be fixed in the next update to the game -- for now don't touch the 'Restart' button in Crimson Citadel!
- Changes made to the ‘Max Framerate’ setting in the Options menu are not properly saved when the game is closed and reopened. This will be fixed in a future update.
- For those playing on keyboard, please note that the W key is always bound to the 'Taunt' button in this build. A future update will ensure the 'Taunt' button is included as one that can have its keyboard binding changed in the Options > Controls > Keyboard Binds menu.
- Some unintended visuals may appear when using certain Shaders unlocked in the Customization menu. The PVM-Scanlines Shader causes visual issues in the Clear screen, and causes an image to get stuck on screen in stage 4-1.
- Some enemies on certain stages may render their sprites incorrectly for one or two frames when first encountered.
- A very rare performance issue has been observed on some PC hardware which can cause low framerates while the game is paused or idle. On the rare affected systems we have found, this is usually observed after 35 to 75 seconds of idle time in certain gameplay situations.

Thanks for the infos. I hope the future update you're talking about will be available fast.

alxltz: - For those that pre-ordered or purchased the Digital Deluxe edition and received bonus Palettes (Costumes), in the current release of the game you may need to launch the game through GOG Galaxy for the DLC Palettes to work in the game. This will be fixed in a future update to allow standalone access to the DLC, in addition to current access when launching through Galaxy.
Well thank you for stating that, rather than letting us find out for ourselves. I'll wait for the update.

Also, the Pre-Order advert stated:
"Preorder now to get GOG-themed Shou Skin."

The Deluxe Edition mentions "PC Exclusive Shou Costume".

So is the GOG themed skin the same as the PC exclusive skin, or are these two different skins?

Yeah, I hope this is true and the Skins ends up as a offline installer too or another way to access it offline.

I was just coming here to make a post about some of the shaders seemed like they were broken. Of the ones I unlocked, Paletted and VGA'd look identical for some reason. Good to see you're aware there are shader bugs already.
I'm still waiting for one problem to be fixed.
Wanted to rebind the keyboard keys into a WSAD config only to discover that the W button is the taunt button. And it doesn't figure in the control list. Thus I couldn't perform any attacks that allow me to launch enemies into the air because the taunt button overwrote the up button when I assigned the W button to it.

Edit: Also something happened back when I first played the game with the WSAD config is that at one point I got somehow locked into launching enemies into the air. Bizarre.

Thanks everyone for the notes and feedback, and for your patience as we make fixes. Please continue to let us know of any issues you are experiencing. We are continuing to work with the developers on the known issues described above and others.

An incremental patch to fix the issue described below is now live in version G1.01, so it should no longer be required to launch the game through Galaxy in order to access the DLC color palettes for Shou which come with the pre-order and Digital Deluxe editions:

Yes, as noted in known issues, unfortunately the latest build maps the 'Taunt' key to W at all times. We will make the taunt key able to rebind in a future update. Unfortunately you may need to use something like ESDF instead of WASD for movement in the meantime.

As for why you are launching enemies in the air when pressing Taunt, this is actually an effect/property of the taunt ability. The standard Taunt button has Shou point his sword forward, and enemies in front of you when you do this will be launched for a wall-bounce (a good combo starter). If you hold down while pressing taunt, this will strike a different pose, and enemies near Shou when this is executed will be launched slowly upward (a good way to start an air combo). So the taunt is not just for show in this game, but also has offensive properties.

Darn. Well I will have to stick with the standard config then.
Thanks for hearing out.

Edit: I know that part with the Taunt. Thing is that because of it when I changed to a WSAD config, Shou was locked into the usual launch moves. As in all he did was the light and heavy launch you do when you use the up button + light and heavy attacks for some reason.
Maybe when you fix the key mapping then this also will get resolved.

What controllers does the GOG version support? Rebindable? Where is the demo?
