I couldn't tell you the purpose behind it, but to quote one of the games testers, it is an "expected" behaviour.

As for the game length, just remember that aside from some freelance workers who provided music, art, and sound, "99% of the writing, design, and code" was done by a sole developer (the gentleman featured in the opening introduction.) Considering that, there is quite a lot there. But you know something is just right if it was complete, yet still you yearn for more.

The game is still being patched, but as for large additions or expansions that is currently unknown to the public. If they are being considered, they would take some time to construct. But the developer has expressed wishes to continue his game development career in whatever capacity happens to unfold. So check back sometime!

I was kind of sad after everything my party had gone through together with the ending, I understand why they did it. I just wish they had given us an alternative way to do things. Loved every moment of it, the dev should be very proud !

Yeah I was very puzzled when the smaller window came up and I couldn't quit out to the menu to start a new game, I restarted thinking maybe something had crashed, played through the last bit again and it happened again. Very strange way to do things indeed. A amazing art style, I hope he will be able to do some sort of mini DLC with new character classes etc perhaps.

I loved the game, it made me feel like I was playing an older game like Dungeon Mater or Eye of the Beholder,where the care,love and attention showed and shined through.

You're welcome. After years of work, I'm sure the developer would be pleased were he to hear your kind words. It's a nice game, but there was still room for some improvement next time around. With the generally very favourable response from players and critics, I hope his humility remains, and he keeps his head!

One thing about the ending. There is no need to bring every member of the team for the final fight. I beat the final boss with just main hero, Roland and Embla. So I've got a bit better ending.

Better in what sense? There is only one ending screen/cutscene, as far as I'm aware. If you mean the events that happen between the final boss and the ending cutscene, I would say that the outcome is not necessarily better or worse, and that it ultimately plays out the same - the final discussion with Embla. The main difference being the presence or not of discussions with party members, right? There is an internal variable that is set depending on if they joined your party. With the flag on, they appear in that final place. But you will notice that the environment doesn't change. Iben's body can still be seen strapped to that perverse table, regardless of if he was in your party, meaning that everyone is still bound to the their fate. Or am I missing something here?

I think devs had no time or forgot to remove that body if You left Iben in ship or maybe it's some over unknown human as main hero don't care about that body? I think there is only one ending but for me best outcome is if You save as much of party members as possible. They have been through enough horror and their sacrifice is not needed.

PS. Is it possible to beat final boss with only 2 team members?

I see what you mean. There is no need for us to squabble over the semantics of what is or counts as an outcome/ending/etc is, then. Part of the fun of an RPG is the role playing part, and interpreting things for oneself based on what is presented, after all. It's possible to beat the entire game solo, not just the final boss.

The ending was too gloomy, but okay it fits in the scenario.

So there was an ancient king who somehow summoned Embla to give him strength against the Ctulluh-inspired monster (?) And this king was an alien, I guess (the fnal area has the feel of a spaceship and the game also calls it "craft")...

So the alien king got Embla and did what? Defeat the monster? Or just flee in the spaceship?

What about the "children" living in the craft? Where do they come from? Did they tortue Iben? Why? What about killing (?) Kat?

The fight (?) between the "king" and the monster destroyed the isles, but how survived the main char?

As i understood it, they are trapped in a time loop. (Dragon sleeps, is at the brink of waking up - player has to wake up god - god needs human energy, "eats" Embla - the island and the group is blown up - god is getting dragon to sleep again, goes to sleep again. Time loop is starting again.)
The children came up as creation from god. And no, they did not "torture" Iben. They just took him apart to see how a human is build up. Like a curious human would take a robot apart. But this children are much more intelligent, so they left him alive, while they took him apart.
And Kat was not killed, she was just taken in by the children being in the wall (? I think)

And the main char does not survive, the time loop is resetted. The only one remembering is Embla.
