join the club. Most of us have that error. I didn't have that error shortly after it launched. There should be a update this week to fix the problems-I hope

Will give them 5 days, after day, will request a refund.
Its most likely an installation problem: for some reason, the settings file isn't getting setup correctly during installation for some users.

Open your settings file (something like D:\Users\Fyst\Documents\My Games\Ironclad Games\Sins of a Solar Empire Rebellion\Setting\rebellion.user.setting) and change IcoServerPort to: IcoServerPort 8000 instead of whatever other number is there.

Thanks, now I'm getting "0 games started" and "0 games available".

Steam and GOG are on different versions of the game currently. It sounds like Steam won't force everyone to update to 1.83 until January. Until then, games indeed might be hard to come by.

I can assure you, they are hard to come by. Been sitting with the lobby in windowed mode for the past 5 hours and have yet to even get a 1v1 running. Short of scheduling a meet-up with a friend, your chances of finding a game right now are very slim indeed.

I'm still sitting in lobby right now, so if anyone wants to drop by we can play, but I can't stick around forever. If you're a beginner, bring a friend and we'll do a 2v1.

I got rid of the error but now it says my user name is already in use. Great. I've only had it for years...
I want it back. :(
I still can't play online with GOG's version of this game. It still says "old version detected."

I actually own this game both on GOG and on Steam. Steam version is still running v1.82.5006 (or something like that) and the multiplayer works on that version.

I really like the idea of DRM-free games, which is why I bought the game again on GOG, but if the GOG version is going to be inferior, there's really no point in giving them my money. . .

How are you trying to play? LAN/Direct Connect works fine for me, including for connecting to people elsewhere on the Internet. This has worked perfectly since the first time I tried it.

Through the ICO Online Multiplayer, or whatever it's called.

GOG is not responsible for the ICO Multiplayer servers. We know that the developer has at least one patch (v1.83b) that they have not yet provided to GOG. I suggest you complain to the operators of the ICO Multiplayer servers that their servers refuse to talk to the version of the game sold on GOG. The most that GOG could do is complain to them on your behalf.

If you own both Steam and GOG the user file is likely set to use Steam's (or whichever was first). If you want to use GOG on ICO you probably need to try the instructions I posted above.

Once we merge for cross platform play (soon) this shouldn't be a problem.
ICO-Multiplayer definitely works with the GoG-Version in my case. I play it all the time without issues.
